Meet the Host
Erin Brown, known online as @iamerinbrown, is a public sociologist, lesbian influencer, and outspoken advocate for queer culture. She is the host of The Lesbian Peep Show podcast, where she celebrates lesbian, sapphic, and dyke identity through cultural commentary, personal stories, and critical conversations on queer history, body politics, relationships, and representation.
In addition to her podcast and social media presence, Erin created The Sapphic Syllabus, an evolving archive preserving lesbian narratives and histories, and developed the Emergent Queer Identity Development Model—a framework built from lived experience, observed patterns, and community connection. This model offers a more expansive, non-linear understanding of queer identity formation, grounded in the political and personal realities of queer life.
Erin describes herself as a “Professional Lesbian,” using humor, candor, and cultural critique to challenge narratives that cast lesbianism as tragic or limiting. Her work pushes back against the heteronormative scripts she was handed, including what she calls “the cultural indoctrination that being a lesbian is one of the saddest possible outcomes for a woman.”
Through essays, social media, podcasting, and performance, Erin seeks to create outlets to uplift queer stories and affirm the complexities of queer identity and life. Her content contributes to a culture where queer womanhood—fluid, and multifaceted—is recognized as a vital and powerful aspect of queer history and community.
